HISTORY
Mountain Gate Quarry is part of the Stimpel-Wiebelhaus Associates (SWA) family of companies. Originally founded as Eastco Construction in 1969 by Dick Stimpel, today’s company is the product of a business-continuation plan prepared under the guidance of, and in cooperation with Dick Stimpel, Bill Wiebelhaus, and key management employees. The implementation of this plan enabled the original owners to retire and ensured SWA will continue its growth into the 21st Century.
Mountain Gate Quarry is committed to continuing its proud tradition of producing the highest quality products for its customers and clients while providing a livelihood, professional advancement and personal growth for its employees and their families.
TODAY
Today, SWA is owned by Corkey Harmon, a third-generation native of Shasta County, California. Corkey was driven to be an entrepreneur at an early age. He created one of his first businesses in his early 20s. In the course of his career, Corkey has managed numerous large construction projects including dams, highway repair and improvements, storm damage repair, and multi-million dollar projects like the Highway 50 Interchange in Folsom near Sacramento. He has also supervised many construction projects throughout Redding and the surrounding area.
